Three-phase direct energy meter with Modbus RTU
The EM540DINAV23XS1PFB EM540 CG Direct 3 Phase up to 63A Modbus is a Carlo Gavazzi three-phase MID energy analyzer designed for direct connection in commercial and industrial electrical installations. It measures electrical consumption without external current transformers and is suitable for sub-metering, load monitoring and building energy management.
The meter communicates through RS485 Modbus RTU, allowing energy and electrical measurements to be integrated with building management systems, PLCs, SCADA platforms and energy monitoring software.
Direct three-phase energy measurement
The EM540 AV2 version is designed for direct connection in three-phase systems and supports currents up to 65 A according to Carlo Gavazzi documentation. The meter measures imported and exported energy together with key electrical parameters including voltage, current, active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor and frequency.
The PFB version is MID approved, while the S1 communication option provides RS485 Modbus RTU for remote data collection. The analyzer is self-powered and designed for DIN rail installation.

Installation and connection
Mount the EM540 on a DIN rail and connect the three-phase supply directly through the meter according to the installation diagram.
