Solar-powered LoRaWAN gateway with cellular backhaul
The Gateway SG50 MS with cellular and solar panel (30W) LoRaWAN is an ultra-low-power outdoor gateway designed for remote IoT installations where mains power and wired internet are unavailable. It combines LoRaWAN communication, 4G cellular backhaul, built-in rechargeable batteries and a 30W solar panel for autonomous operation.
The SG50 uses an SX1302 LoRa chipset with 8 half-duplex channels and supports around 2,000 LoRaWAN end devices. Under suitable conditions, LoRaWAN communication can reach up to 15 km in rural line-of-sight environments.
Solar power and cellular connectivity
The standard 30W solar panel powers the gateway and charges the integrated 25 Ah battery during sufficient sunlight. The internal battery can support typical gateway operation for up to 4 days without sunlight, depending on configuration and operating conditions.
Cellular connectivity provides independent backhaul for remote sites, while Wi-Fi is available for local configuration. The gateway supports mainstream LoRaWAN network servers and also includes an embedded network server with MQTT integration.
See the official Milesight SG50 product information and documentation for detailed specifications and installation guidance.
