LoRaWAN communication module for Engelmann SensoStar/SensoStar C
The CMi4170 ELV Module for Engelmann Sensostar/Sensostar C LoRaWAN is an internal Elvaco meter communication module designed to add LoRaWAN connectivity to compatible Engelmann SensoStar heat meters. The module is installed directly inside the meter and transmits meter data wirelessly to a receiving server through a LoRaWAN network.
The module can send meter data through a compatible LoRaWAN gateway to a network server, billing platform or energy-management system.
Integrated LoRaWAN meter communication
The CMi4170 is designed for Engelmann SensoStar S3 and S3C meters and can be retrofitted into already installed meters. It operates as a LoRaWAN Class A device and supports both OTAA and ABP activation.
Configuration is performed through NFC using the Elvaco OTC app, through LoRaWAN downlink or with Engelmann's Device Monitor optical configuration tool. The module includes red and green status LEDs and a multifunction push button for start-up, reboot and switch-off.
The CMi4170 can share the power source of the meter and provides up to 10+1 years of battery life under specified conditions. Elvaco EcoMode can be used to optimise transmission intervals and maximise operating life.

Installation and connection
Install the CMi4170 in the module slot of a compatible Engelmann SensoStar S3 or S3C meter and activate the device according to the Elvaco installation instructions. Configure the module through NFC using the Elvaco OTC app or through the supported remote configuration methods. A compatible LoRaWAN gateway and network server are required for remote meter reading.
